A CALL TO THE GLOBAL CHURCH

Together reaching everyone

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you: and you will be my witnesses…

Christian denominations and movements across the globe are coming together to call every believer in every church to pray, share, and celebrate the good news of Jesus Christ between Easter and Pentecost each year. At Easter, churches around the world celebrate what Jesus has done for us through his death and resurrection. At Pentecost we celebrate the giving of the Holy Spirit to Jesus’ followers, the evangelism it empowered and the church it birthed. The call of Easter To Pentecost (E2P) is for the body of Christ to move into an intentional season of prayer, witness, and celebration across the seven weeks from Easter Weekend to Pentecost Weekend, culminating with these three focal days:

Pentecost Friday: A day of united Christian prayer for the lost.

Pentecost Saturday: A day of united Christian witness to the lost.

Pentecost Sunday: A day of united Christian celebration over the found.

What could happen if the global church unites to fulfil the great commission of Jesus? Your Advance group and church can get involved this year and beyond.

SEVEN STEPS TO GET INVOLVED

In the month of Easter, at the end of your regular Advance group session, leave ten minutes to do the following:

  1. Commit to each sharing the gospel with one person per week over the seven weeks between Easter and Pentecost, being intentional about the gospel opportunity and the discipleship need that will follow a decision for Christ.
  2. Each of you write a list of up to seven people you know personally who you will share with in this time (if less than seven be open to sharing with strangers or surprise encounters instead).
  3. Pray over this commitment and commission one another.
  4. Register your Advance groups commitment to the global E2P movement by clicking here.
  5. Communicate progress and encourage each other via your usual method of ongoing community communication (WhatsApp, signal, iMessage etc).
  6. Check in on progress at the following month’s Advance group. Celebrate the success of having the intended conversations as much as any fruit that comes from them. Pray again and go again for the final weeks of the E2P time.
  7. Talk to your church leader about how your church can engage with Pentecost weekend – prayer, witness, and celebration.
