Neither of my parents grew up in Christian families, they never went to church or had any close family members who were Christians, but my dad became a Christian through a whole bunch of different situations.

Grace was born and raised in Zambia. Whilst she was raised within a Catholic family, Grace never really knew the Holy Spirit and for much of her early years she felt spiritually empty. However, when a Christian mission came to her town things began to change for Grace.
There are some situations in life that help us to value the right things and that will bring our priorities into check. In those situations where we know that we might not have much time, the urgency and seriousness of what’s important comes to the surface. That is the situation the Apostle Paul was going through when he wrote to Timothy about the urgency of our proclamation.

I used to host a readio show where I gave people the opportunity to air their spiritual grievances and objections to Christian faith. I thought it fair game to give people the chance to voice the reasons why they would not or could not follow Jesus. I let my guests speak. I did not respond to their sticking points by grabbing my gospel gun and blasting them with Bible bullets. I let them talk. We had a conversation. When pressed to justify this segment, I said, ”We need to learn to listen and listen to learn.”
