One thing I wish I’d learnt before I started sharing my faith is to listen more to those who I am trying to evangelise.

One Thing: It’s Not About me… Or Is It?
Written by Max Swart
When we start off in ministry, we often have an idea of what ‘IT’ is that God is calling us to, but we don’t always know ‘WHO’ our ministry is meant to impact. The one thing we know with certainty is that it’s not about us… or can it be?
One Thing: It Is For An Audience Of One
Written by Dan Randall
One thing I wish I had known before I started to share my faith is that it’s all for an audience of One. No matter the audience, no matter the passage, no matter the occasion, it’s all for Jesus.
One Thing: Preparation Is Essential
Written by Shakeyra Mason.
One thing I wish I’d known before I started sharing my faith is that preparation is essential.
As a zealous young believer, I was excited to take to the streets and share my faith. With very little preparation, knowledge of the word, or even prayer, I eagerly began to rush into conversations about Jesus. It wasn’t always fruitless, but there were many times where I would’ve benefitted from being more prepared for those opportunities.
One Thing: We Need To Be Compassionate For The Lost
Written by Alan Greene
One thing I wish I’d known before I started to share my faith, is that we need to be compassionate for the lost, not simply intellectual believers trying to win arguments as a way to push people into accepting Jesus. Writen by Sarah Small.
One thing that I wish I knew before I started to share my faith (and to be honest I wish I could keep being reminded of because I so easily forget!) is to be authentically myself with those I’m sharing my faith with. Perhaps you’re thinking that is rather obvious! But it’s something I’ve had to learn, and continually re-learn, over many years of ministry and mission.
One Thing: Keep The Focus
If there was one thing I wish I’d known before I started to share my faith it would be ‘remember to keep the focus’; keep the focus on sharing the good news that brings hope and life to people who are searching, every day, for something to fill a void that they feel in their lives.

Written by Dave Plowman
One thing I wish I knew before starting to share my faith is it’s about the overflow. The best evangelism I’ve witnessed in the last 20 years of ministry are from the people who simply share the good news out of an overflow of love, adoration and worship of God.
One Thing: People Will Let You Down
One thing I wish I knew when I started sharing my faith was that people will let you down. The reality is that humans are complex and maybe we feel that ministry might be much easier if it weren’t for the people! But the church is made up of people like us, and if we want to see the church thrive, then we need to learn how to navigate human complexities better.
